The goal for the Chubbs Club is safe, healthy weight loss by combining dietary modification combined with resistance training in a safe environment to permit muscle building and fat burning while reducing the workload on the joints and tissues.
By utilizing hydrotherapy, your dog can safely exercise with less pressure and compressive force on their joints while developing calorie-burning muscle tissue for health and fitness. The increase in muscle tissue further stabilizes the joints to provide long term improvement in joint health.
Studies indicate that maintaining ideal weight can lengthen a dog’s lifespan by as much as two years!
Chubbs Club is offered in two formats:
In-patient: One option is the in-patient clinic which involves daily exercises sessions while boarding at our facility to permit a more intensive exercise program throughout their stay (typically a 2 week minimum). This allows us to get the weight loss well established and develop muscle and tone before your pet comes home. This makes maintaining their progress easy for you when they return home as the metabolic rate increases with muscle development.
Out-patient: This option includes dietary modification at home combined with exercise at our facility two to three times per week for six to eight weeks. Home exercise is recommended on the “off” days. While it can take a bit longer since the pet gets hydrotherapy fewer times per week, the end goal is the same… a leaner and more fit pet with a decreased risk of weight-related disease and illness…
And that all makes for a happier and healthier pet!
